Executive of the Month of June: Ahrani Justin
We are excited to spotlight Ahrani Justin, the content lead from our Ontario branch for making Executive of the Month in June! Thank you for all your hard work!
When asked why she joined HNP, Ahrani shared:
“I decided to join HNP because I was searching for an organization that wasn’t just volunteer-based but also offered meaningful learning experiences. I wanted to grow, learn, and help others and when I came across HNP’s Instagram page, I was immediately drawn to the strength of its mission and the diversity of experiences its executive team brought. I had friends who attended HNP events and spoke highly of how well-structured and impactful they were. As someone who’s always been involved in environmental initiatives including serving as an executive for my school’s Eco Club since elementary school, I saw HNP Ontario as an opportunity to bring those passions to life on a wider scale in my local community.”
Here’s what Ahrani's currently working on with her team:
“At the moment, I’m working on a YouTube video that recaps several of our recent events from community cleanups to outreach events, to showcase the impact we’ve made as a team over the past few months.”
When asked what Ahrani loves most about HNP?
“The team here at HNP has to hands down be the best part. Every single person on this team inspires me. Beyond just being hardworking and dedicated to HNP’s mission, they’re kind, supportive, and genuinely wonderful people.
We talk about our projects, school, life and a bit of everything. There is a sense of community and understanding here that I’m so grateful for, even beginning here with their welcoming nature. The people truly are the heart of this organization, and it’s a privilege to work with them.”
Ahrani's passion:
“Deforestation is an issue I care deeply about. I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s taking walks in conservation areas or just appreciating local biodiversity. Nature has always been a grounding and calming space for me. Watching forests and natural habitats disappear for urbanization or agriculture is heartbreaking, and it reminds me how important it is to actively protect these spaces. I’ve participated in several tree-planting events and HNP has also offered these initiatives, and though they may seem like small actions, they contribute meaningfully to reversing the damage. I believe that if more people recognized the value of these green spaces, we’d see greater efforts toward preserving them.”
Thank you and congratulations Ahrani!
