About The 2025 Fellowship
The 2025 Youth Environmental Advocacy Fellowship (YEAF) is a week-long fellowship where fellow participants will spend a week participating in virtual workshops, followed by three weeks of working collaboratively within their fellowship teams to complete a 6-8 page research paper or a 5-10 minute video based on the efficacy of current environmental actions that governments and organizations have taken.
Join us for our 3rd iteration of the YEAF and gain 50 volunteer hours, a certificate of completion, and the internship experiences improving participant formal report writing and presentation skills!
Project Mission
Our mission is to empower youth to become advocates for environmental issues. We aim to provide participants the tools, knowledge, and platform needed to foster environmental leadership, empathy, and the possibility of successful, impactful change.
Project Description
This fellowship is a transformative program that equips students with the knowledge and skills to make a tangible impact in the lives of Canadians and other citizens within their own communities. Participants will explore the efficacies of the actions that current governments and organizations have taken for the climate crisis. In the end, participants will condense what they have learned into a report on the significance of civic involvement in environmental activism.
Project Impact
The program seeks to create lasting impact by raising awareness regarding climate catalysts, and equipping youth with the knowledge and tools to drive positive environmental change in their communities.

AI in Environmental Sustainability
-
Smart grids powered by AI can reduce energy use by 10-15%

BUT training large language models like GPT-3 has led to the production of 502 metric tons of CO2! That’s equivalent to driving 112 gasoline-powered cars for a year!
-
So… what does that mean for our future?
